Arsani Gaied came to computer science by way of Mechanical Engineering and Game Programming and Animation. He has a strong passion for software architecture and design, and enthusiasm for functional programming, especially in Haskell. Before joining Mackey, he worked in the fintech industry with Financial Recovery Technologies, writing purely functional NodeJs in a micro-services architecture. He enjoys pondering CS theory, and loves exploring programming languages. Arsani holds a B.S. in CS from UNH, and a M.S. in CS from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Ashley Butler is a Product Manager for MackeyRMS in the New York office. As a Product Manager, she is responsible for providing technical solutions and support. Prior to MackeyRMS, Ashley worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst at Information Builders. Ashley studied at Fordham University and holds a B.S. degree in Information Science.
Ben is a developer, teacher, and speaker. His talks and courses have helped thousands of developers around the world. He specializes in fighting complexity and improving the teams around him.
Bob Grudem brings decades of systems and enterprise software development to MackeyRMS. Bob wrote assembly language and C for more than 10 years at Microsoft in the Systems Division, before moving on to web applications, messaging middleware, and the .NET world of enterprise applications. He especially enjoys programming in Haskell. He holds a BA in mathematics from Reed College.
With over five years experience on the technical and sales side in RMS, including several years with legacy vendors, Brian maintains expertise in the space. "I have extensive, first-hand experience with the challenges and obstacles encountered with firms not using a modern RMS. The speed, mobility, and flexible innovations offered by our product truly make us best in breed."
Brian is responsible for the delivery of the technical and business value offered by our software. He serves as a key resource not only with internal technical operations, but also in understanding, creating, and deploying the underlying architecture. Brian also works extensively in providing custom solutions leveraging the underlying platform and frameworks.
His experience in FinTech, and specifically the RMS space, allows Brian to meet and fulfill all customer solutions.
Chris Mackey draws upon his experience and deep understanding of both the hedge fund and alternative research industries. He previously worked as a research analyst with a technology-focused long/short equity hedge fund, where he covered the Internet sector. Prior to his time on the buy-side, Chris was a member of the technology, media & telecom group with Standard & Poor's Vista Research, a provider of research services to the financial services industry. Frustration from the lack of viable workflow tools and constant inefficiencies in the investment enterprise gave Chris the inspiration to develop the industry's smartest research management application, MackeyRMS. Chris holds a BA from Harvard University.
Emmett Manning joined the Mackey Team in 2014 directly from Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Emmett has previously served as an Assistant Baseball Coach with Barnstable High School, and maintains the lowest golf handicap at Mackey.
Hoony Youn oversees all software development activities and technical operations for MackeyRMS. Hoony has over 18 years experience in the high tech industry, working in various leadership product and program management roles across enterprise software, mobile platform and consumer electronics industries. As a result, he has co-developed and deployed numerous award winning innovative software and hardware solutions to the marketplace for global companies such as Samsung and LG Electronics. Hoony holds a Masters and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ian Jeffries is a Software Developer with MackeyRMS. He has a special interest in using type systems and functional programming to deliver high quality code. Ian has a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jess joined Mackey all the way from the UK in early 2016. As a Software Developer, Jess loves the challenge of learning. Her experience is primarily in Ruby on Rails and front end web development. She comes from a background in Chemistry where she worked professionally in a chemical production company. She holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry, obtained from Durham University, UK.
Joseph Cho enjoys programming because he believes in its potential to make ideas come to life. He comes from Arcadia Healthcare Solutions, where he developed SQL queries that mapped fields from client databases to local servers. His programming interests lie in elegant code, creating a clean UX, and working on his passion project brunchbucks.com. He comes from Boston University with a Bachelors in Health Science and Minor in Public Health.
Kevin Canavan is an Account Manager with Mackey, joining in 2015 after spending the previous 8 years in Client Reporting and Services, as well as the Derivative Pricing Group, with BNY Mellon in Boston. Kevin holds a BS and BA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and remains a loyal fan of the Minutemen.
Luis Castellanos is responsible for driving and managing global sales at MackeyRMS. With more than fifteen years of sales experience in the financial technology sector, and seven years exclusively selling research management systems, Luis has unparalleled expertise and has established relationships with some of the industry’s largest Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, Fund of Funds and Sovereign Wealth Funds. His vast experience affords him a comprehensive understanding of the buy-side research process and work flow of investment professionals. Prior to joining the Firm, Luis served as Director of Sales for Advent's Tamale Research Management product where he was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing. Luis holds a BS from Franklin Pierce University.
With experience on the buy-side and within FinTech, Michael has a deep appreciation for how a quality platform can augment a client’s “edge.” As Customer Success Manager, Michael focuses on diving into our users’ research process, to help deliver a precise, customized solution. Michael holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from SUNY University at Albany, and is based out of our New York office.
Taneshia Auxier joins Mackey as a Junior Account Manager, after graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors in Business Administration. She is based in the Boston office. During her free time, Taneshia enjoys exploring the city, playing Frisbee golf, and expressing her creativity through a variety of art forms.
Will Keuper is based in London, and oversees international expansion for Mackey. Prior to joining the Firm, Will worked as an Investment Banking Analyst with Jefferies & Company in New York City. Will holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University, where he was a member of the Varsity Baseball Team.
